Roberta A. Young focuses on patent portfolio counseling, patent preparation and prosecution, enforcement, and IP management for clients ranging from domestic and foreign multinational companies to technology startups.
Ms. Young advises on intellectual property strategies, drafting and prosecuting both domestic and foreign patents and preparing patent infringement, validity, and due diligence opinions. She also counsels clients in technical areas including: telecommunications and wireless technology, LTE, MIMO, digital signal processing, satellite communications, biometric data collection, military optical systems, mosaic sensors, video game technology, medical devices, semiconductors and semiconductor fabrication, lasers, interferometry, mechanical design, and sub-wavelength devices.
Before entering private practice, Ms. Young served as patent counsel to one of the largest digital wireless communications companies in the world. She has extensive engineering experience as a program manager and principal systems engineer for a major defense contractor.
