Owen Bates is licensed to practice law in California and is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has worked with biotech and pharmaceutical companies ranging from companies that were just formed to those with thousands of employees. He has both participated in and was responsible for corporate intellectual property committees and is experienced in working with scientists and business development in order to maximize the value of a company’s intellectual property. He has many years experience in patents, trademarks, licensing, and confidentiality, vendor and other commercial agreements.

Owen graduated from Western State University College of Law, Fullerton CA and obtained an undergraduate degree in chemistry from Saint Louis University. He has many years of university research and clinical laboratory experience and is an author on 6 peer-reviewed publications. He is also licensed as a Specialist in Clinical Chemistry by the American Society of Clinical Pathology. He has particular experience in protein chemistry and drug delivery including transdermal and respiratory delivery devices.
